YE Infant

Infant (6 weeks - 12 months)

From the moment of birth, babies are amazing learners. They already have the innate ability to investigate sights and sounds, getting a feel for the world around them.

At Villa Montessori, our teachers create a peaceful, nurturing environment and gently encourage your child to explore the carefully chosen materials that aid in their sensory development. These first few years of life is an extraordinary learning period where your child is undergoing rapid cognitive and emotional growth, brain development, and language acquisition. Our teachers are gentle and responsive, nurturing a trusting relationship so important for healthy growth and development. Under their care, your child establishes a strong sense of security and independence, encouraging a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

YE Toddler

Toddlers (12 months - 2.5 years)

Our Toddler classes range in age from 12 months to 2.5 years.

At this stage, toddlers learn through sensorial exploration. They want to see, touch, hear, taste and smell everything! We provide learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.

Villa Montessori’s Toddler classrooms offer extensive outlets for exploration in varied media such as painting, sculpting, light table discovery opportunities, music and movement, gardening and yoga.

The Toddler environment is set up in such a way as to promote investigation, creativity and experimentation.

At this stage, toddlers are just acknowledging there are others in their environment and they begin to learn how to cooperate through play.

YE Preschool

Pre-Primary (2-3 years)

Our Pre-Primary class ranges in age from 2 to 3 years.

At this age, children are challenged with trying to communicate their ideas and emotions. We give them the tools they need to navigate through this stage.

Each child is treated as an individual, with their own ideas, expressions, and opinions. We provide outlets that represent the child’s many “languages.” These can include drawing, painting, sculpture, shadow play, dramatic play, scientific observations, gardening and music.

We strive to know the child and develop the emergent curriculum to support their personalities.

YE Pre-K

Primary (3-6 years)

Our Primary class is a mixed age group ranging from 3 years to 6 years.

Our program recognizes that children learn best by their own experiences. We offer a hands-on learning environment, rich with materials designed to engage their imaginations. It is important to us that our students focus on the process of learning, not the product. With this philosophy at the forefront of everything we do; education is not a rote memory exercise, it is a creative process. Often, we see true joy in learning from the child’s perspective.

Our Montessori preschool programs emphasize critical thinking, problem solving and productivity, along with social and emotional growth.

YE Part-Time Daycare

Extended Primary (Third year of Montessori)

Villa Montessori Preschool’s full-day Extended Primary curriculum includes units that combine language, math, art, science, geography, history and cultural studies. A low student/teacher ratio allows for highly personalized teaching.

YE Part-Time Daycare

A low student/teacher ratio allows for highlypersonalized teaching. Our Toddler Montessori Program is a fun, loving, and respectful place for our youngest students to become independent and self-confident individuals. Our daycare and childcare programs are Montessori-inspired, and offer best-in-class daycare and childcare for toddlers in Fremont, Dublin, and Danville, California. We encourage them to explore their rich classroom environments by making their own choices from among a wide variety of developmentally appropriate materials.

Our resourceful Toddler classrooms promote language, math, practical life exercises, science, and the arts as well as fine and gross motor activities. Individual attention is paid to promoting each child’s emerging language skills and each child’s curiosity to explore all of the learning materials and the outdoors. The primary goal is to support the children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth and to nurture their sense of being in a secure and stimulating environment.

Pre-K

Daycare

Daycare is a critical experience for every child. Daycare is a time when the child is beginning to learn about the world, in earnest, and experience self-confidence as well as learn to play well with others. We consider “daycare” and “childcare” to be conceptually the same program: beginning at about 18 months and going up to the start of preschool learning. Most children are “potty trained” and our programs work – in age appropriate ways – to weave in both Montessori and STEM concepts. All children are “wired” for learning, and our staff enjoys the opportunity to make an impression in your child’s developmental journey.

Our daycare program is –

  • More than just Daycare: We set the foundation for a love of learning via the “Montessori Method,” where age-appropriate.
  • STEM-orientation: We recognize that many Bay Area parents want their children to have a foundation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Accordingly, we weave in STEM learning in age appropriate ways. We see learning as a continuum from the earliest moments into well into adulthood.
  • Convenient Hours: Our Daycare hours are early and late, convenient for busy Bay Area parents. Check with the staff at your desired locations for current hours and how our procedures work.
  • Convenient Locations: Our Daycare programs are in Fremont, Dublin, Milpitas, and Danville. We have a new state-of-the-art campus in Centerville (Fremont). We’re convenient to I-680 and I-880, making it ideal for busy commuters.
  • Step-by-step Program: our Daycare program leads easily into our best-in-class preschool and kindergarten programs, all based on Montessori techniques.

Child Care

Child care is a critical experience for every child. Child care is a time when the child is beginning to learn about the world, in earnest, and experience self-confidence as well as learn to play well with others. Our teachers and staff adore the youngest among us and cherish the opportunity to start at the very beginning of a little one’s learning experience.

Our child care program is –

  • More than just child care: We set the foundation for a love of learning via the “Montessori Method,” where age-appropriate.
  • STEM-focused: In age-appropriate ways, we introduce the most basic learning concepts. Our goal throughout the child’s education is to set a foundation for lifetime learning including the basic foundation.
  • Convenient Hours: childcare hours are early and late, convenient for busy Bay Area parents. Check with our staff for current hours by location.
  • Convenient Locations: Our child care programs are in Fremont, Dublin, Danville, and Milpitas (coming soon). We’re expanding locations, including a state-of-the-art Centerville campus, so please check with staff as to opening schedules. • Step-by-step Program: Our child care program leads easily into our best-in-class preschool and kindergarten programs, all based on Montessori techniques.

Preschool

Our preschool program (available at our Danville, Fremont, and Dublin campuses) provides an enriching hands-on learning experience with specially formulated Montessori materials for math, language, sensorial exploration, practical life activities, art, science, second language, music, history, and geography.

Our preschool children develop observation and problem-solving skills. They are able to achieve this by manipulating, experimenting, and discovering through Montessori materials and prepared environment. Children begin to move from the concrete to the abstract as they prepare for the more complex studies used in our Montessori Kindergarten program.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten

Bay Area parents, today, from Danville to Dublin, San Ramon to Blackhawk, Fremont to Walnut Creek and everywhere in between want the best for their kids. Many come to us looking, first, for the best kindergarten in Danville, or a private kindergarten in San Ramon, and then discover the Montessori method. Others already know that they want a Montessori Kindergarten, and then look for one that is both highly rated and convenient to their home in Diablo, Blackhawk or San Ramon. Use this page to learn about our Montessori Kindergarten curriculum.

The Kindergarten curriculum closely follows the principles of Montessori education. Our holistic approach to education is evident as we support the opportunities for development socially, physically, intellectually and emotionally for each child. Children are able to move on when ready for a new challenge. Therefore, lessons are presented in small groups to the children and through observation, the teacher determines when the child has internalized a concept and is ready for a new concept. The Kindergarten year highlights critical thinking, independence, comprehension, and preparedness for elementary.

Kindergarten

Transitional Kindergarten

Learn and Play Montessori gives the children an opportunity to grow their academic skills in our Enhanced Transition>al Kindergarten (ETK) program with a traditional approach to learning.

Our curriculum is designed at a higher learning standard than the average state program. The average transitional kindergarten child will be learning letters and numbers. On the other hand, at Learn And Play, the Montessori work time allows the children to work at their own pace with concrete materials to abstract, which will help their knowledge become permanent. Our children get introduced to worksheets and book reports to enhance their learning in a traditional form to prepare them for the kindergarten year.

Centre Director

Christabel started working in the field of educating children over twenty-seven years ago. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree, Major in English Minor in ECE, ECE Licence to Practice from Simon Fraser University and her Music Degree from London Royal Conservatory of Music.

Her favourite part about being a BrightPath Director is working with children and seeing their growth and development. She loves it when children who had been in the curriculum come to visit the centre many years later.

What our families think about BrightPath St. Johns

"We have been with Brightpath since it opened in Port Moody and have gone through all the ‘rooms’ from infant through to the out of school care program. All rooms have had warm, welcoming staff who have cared for and loved my children. I can leave my children under their care each day and know that they being cared for by dedicated staff, while being surrounded by the friends they have made over the years. I would suggest anyone looking for daycare in the Port Moody area look at Brightpath St Johns."
Sheila Williamson
"My child loves going to daycare! Everyone here is wonderful and truly care about the children. I would recommend this place to any parents looking for daycare."
