STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics
Chain Reaction
Use Legos, blocks, recyclables, books and anything else that you can think of to create a chain reaction. Try starting with the smaller materials and working up to the largest materials. See how long, how complex and how creative you can get with this activity.
Science Experiment
Make a Bridge
Using only paper make a bridge between two chairs of equal size. You have 5 minutes! After 5 minutes your bridge must be strong enough to hold up a plastic cup or food storage container for 10 seconds! Challenge your family members to see who can build the strongest bridge!
Physical Literacy
Mirroring
With a family member stand face to face. The first player will start by reading the actions, the second player will mirror their partner's actions. Then after 20 seconds, the roles are reversed. See who has the moves and who doesn’t! This can be done online with a friend on Messenger or Skype.
Creative Activity - Charades online or at home
Using media platforms like Messenger and Skype, play charades with a friend or play with your family members. Try acting out categories like famous movies, famous books, and sports.
