Body Image for Children – Fat Is Not A Feeling

20180823_Blog_BodyImageforChildren_Image

Our Registered Nutritionist Andrea Holwegner from Health Stand Nutrition Consulting Inc. speaks about how “Fat is not a Feeling”. She provides tips and tricks for discussing this hot topic with your child and to help them adjust how they respect and perceive themselves. As children age and change they become more aware of their bodies and need to understand that there is no one way to have a body, we all grow and develop differently.

Also, you, as the parent, need to be aware that your children are watching you at all times and mirror your own actions. So, become their role model by showing them what it means to eat a balanced diet, that includes sweets and treats in moderation, and be physically active to encourage your children to be the same.
