BrightPath Deer Ridge Child Care Centre
Our centre is situated on the cusp of the two southeast communities of Deer Ridge and Queensland along Canyon Meadows Drive and across the street from the Atria Retirement Home. Walking distance from Deer Valley Market Place in one direction and Don Bosco and Wilma Hansen Schools in the other, the centre offers convenient access for families on their way to and from work.
This centre is highly community-focused and gets involved in various activities occurring around the neighbourhood. Children and staff plant a community garden in the summer, learning all about starting and planting seedlings, watering and caring for their plots, harvesting their produce and finally enjoying it prepared in their meals by their on-site cook. Infant (6 Weeks - 18 Months)
Our infant program provides a warm, nurturing environment where caregivers form close bonds with babies, ensuring a secure and trusting relationship. Each infant follows their own schedule, with individualized care routines for feeding, sleeping, and play. Our educators support early development through sensory exploration, attachment-based play, and language-rich interactions, including the introduction of basic American Sign Language (ASL).

Toddler (18 Months - 3 Years)

Through hands-on activities, play-based learning, and structured routines, toddlers gain foundational skills for future learning.

- Supporting independence (self-feeding, dressing, potty training)

Preschool (3-4 Years)
Preschoolers are eager learners, exploring their world with curiosity and excitement. Our preschool program builds upon their natural interests, incorporating early literacy, math, science, and creative expression into their daily routines. Play-based learning helps children develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and social connections.

Kindergarten
Our program focuses on play-based learning, literacy enhancement, and our adaptive curriculum promotes independence and academic readiness.
Before & After School Care (5-12 Years)
Our school-age program supports children’s continued learning and social development through before- and after-school care. With homework help, enrichment activities, and recreational play, children have a safe and engaging environment to continue their growth.

Centre Director
Maria Vardy, with over two decades of experience in child care, has been nurturing young lives at BrightPath Deer Ridge since January 2024. Maria started her career at BrightPath Midnapore in 2015, initially serving as an educator before advancing to the role of Assistant Director. She holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and a Level 3 Alberta Childcare Certificate, which underscores her commitment to the highest standards of early childhood education.
