West Kelowna, BC

What Sets Us Apart

Our award-winning curriculum was formed through in-depth research into early childhood learning and development. A blend of play-based (Frog Street) and child-led (Emergent) curriculums, all activities are hands-on, child-guided and exceed provincial early learning frameworks.

Our dedicated and passionate early childhood educators deliver an innovative, engaging and proven curriculum that ignites a love of learning and inspires and encourages individuality in every BrightPath child. Their nurturing and attentive approach offers each child a home-away-from-home experience.

Two-way communication is important. Monthly newsletters, curriculum nights, parent interviews, open houses and our proprietary app (BrightPath Connect™) are designed to increase the interaction between our centres and families.

Children need nutrition to grow in both mind and body. Believing that food choices throughout childhood fuel life long eating habits, our menu is crafted by a Registered Nutritionist and prepared in-house daily and reflects those beliefs.

About The Centre

BrightPath West Kelowna is neighbour to the Westbank United Church on Brown Road, just two blocks North of Highway 97 and the heart of Westbank.

This small and homey centre feels like a small, intimate community where families bring their children to be cared for long-term from infant to school age and everyone, including staff, children and parents, are familiar with each other. Offering 64 licensed spaces for ages 6 weeks to 12 years, the centre truly is a home away from home.

Each of our bright classrooms are stocked with engaging materials that will help children learn, create, and play. School-aged children are walked to and from École George Pringle, saving them a lengthy bus ride. The outdoor play space features divided play yards that provide age-appropriate learning materials and large climbers. There is also space to garden where children learn to plant seedling, tend their crops and harvest the produce in the end.

Milinda Kendall, Centre Director
BrightPath West Kelowna

Meet The Centre Director

Milinda has been working with children since 2000. In 2002 and 2005 respectively, she graduated from the Early Childhood Education and the Nursing Attendant programs, both in Edmonton, AB. After having her first child in 2009, she became a stay-at-home mom, looking after her baby as well as her three stepchildren, all under the age of 8 years at the time. She joined BrightPath West Kelowna in 2017.

Milinda’s favourite part of being a Centre Director is being able to check in on all the rooms and watch the children learn and play. She likes knowing all the children and their families personally. She loves to help out whether it is shopping for craft supplies or helping get the children ready to play outside. She enjoys being involved in making her centre a success. Caring for children has always been a big part of Milinda’s life and nothing makes her day better than hearing the happy squeals of delight when the children have learned something new.

Milinda grew up in Alberta but moved to Saskatchewan with her husband. They started their family there with one son together plus three amazing stepchildren. In 2017, they moved to the beautiful Okanagan and now live in Kelowna.
