BrightPath Southwood East Child Care Centre

Situated on Sacramento Drive, the centre is easily accessed from Southland Drive near the Southland CTrain station as well as Elbow Drive. Located in a quiet and established neighbourhood, the centre provides great access to commuting parents while still offering a sense of being part of an intimate community.

The centre offers 80 child care spaces to children aged 7 months to 6 years and is both licensed and accredited. Its main differentiating feature is all of the varied outdoor spaces that the centre has access to and makes regular use of. The outdoor play yard is dominated by seven mature trees that provide a lot of natural shade and protection from the elements. Divided into an infant space and a toddler/preschool space, the outdoor playgrounds are stocked with age-appropriate

Centre Director

Marla has worked in the childcare field for over 8 years and joined the BrightPath team in 2012. Having an educational background in the Human Service field, Marla is currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program at Bow Valley College.

Marla’s favourite part about being a BrightPath Director is observing the children’s growth and development at the Centre. She is especially appreciating the evolving relationships with children, parents and the amazing staff. One aspect of the role

What our families think about BrightPath Southwood East

"I have a preschooler at this centre and one in kindergarten for half days. The facility is bright, spacious and clean, with a good play area outside and a good program of learning and activities. I have found the staff to be very professional, as well as attentive and caring toward the children. The centre provides lunch and snacks, and takes care of getting my older child to and from his school, which is very convenient. My children enjoy it. I am very satisfied with this centre and would recommend it."
Harold Beatty
"I’ve had some experience with local daycares and it all wasn’t great. However, the care and support given by this location has been truly amazing! The staff are extremely caring, and conscientious to the needs of the kiddos at the centre.
When our family was facing some challenges, they were very supportive and conveyed understanding and compassion. Marla and Carmen always made us feel welcome and tried to make things easier for us in any way possible. Leaving your children in the care of others for 8 hours a day can certainly be daunting. I felt that leaving my kids there was so very enriching for them and knowing they were loved and cared for as they were definitely made it easier! Thank you Southwood East Brightpath!!"
