Our centre has been serving the community for decades and is located in a well-established and quiet residential neighbourhood in the southwest of Calgary. The centre can be easily accessed off Macleod Trail and is a block away from the old Shawnessy Golf Course entrance on James Mckevitt Road.
Licensed and accredited, the centre offers 100 spaces for child care for 12-month to 5-year olds and before and after school care for 6 to 10-year olds. The director has been with the centre since well before it was ever a BrightPath facility and the centre prides itself on the extremely long serving staff. They inspire a feeling of being part of an extended family and it shows in the many children that enter the centre as infants and stay until they age out of the program at age 10.
The centre backs onto the giant Millrise Park which is actively used by the preschool, pre-K and the OSC age groups, utilizing the large green spaces, big playground, baseball diamond and soccer fields and providing an excellent opportunity for outdoor play outside of the centre play yards.

Judy started working in the field of educating children in 1979, graduating from Mount Royal College in 1989 with her Early Childhood Education diploma. She joined BrightPath in 2011 and has been a part of the team at the Millrise Centre for thirty years in total!
Judy’s favourite part about being a BrightPath Director is watching the children develop and grow throughout the years. Their smiling faces bring her so much joy each and every day and she loves them like they are her own children. Judy is amazed when she sees her Centre’s families become friends and show interest in not only their own children.
Judy has four children that she raised by herself and eleven grandchildren. She is a ‘people person’. Being raised on a farm in a large family, Judy became an aunt at the age of twelve. She loves to support her children and grandchildren at their various sporting events by attending their games, recitals and competitions. Travel is her favourite thing to do as well as camping.
What our families think about BrightPath Millrise
"This daycare is a career mom's dream come true. The director, Judy does a phenomenal job running this daycare and the teachers are so genuine and truly care for the kids. I don't know how all the teachers know all the children's names and they seem to always have intuition if the kids are coming down with being sick or have a change in routine. It is extremely clean and the food is healthy with great international options keeping kids open minded for trying different foods. My four year old daughter gloats about the food. My usually fussy 12 month old son started reaching out for his teacher by the second day which made me feel so at ease."
"BrightPath Millrise is exceptional. The staff are engaged, friendly, and professional. The Centre Director is accessible and has constant communication going out to parents. The App gives insight into what’s going on in your child’s day (sometimes with cute pictures!). Nutrition is a priority and there is a rotating menu of wholesome fresh food, not to mention the accommodations the Chef is willing to make for children with dietary restrictions. Our children truly enjoy being there and constantly come home with new skills and self-confidence. It really is a phenomenal centre."
