What Sets Us Apart

Our award-winning curriculum was formed through in-depth research into early childhood learning and development. A blend of play-based (Frog Street) and child-led (Emergent) curriculums, all activities are hands-on, child-guided and exceed provincial early learning frameworks.

Our dedicated and passionate early childhood educators deliver an innovative, engaging and proven curriculum that ignites a love of learning and inspires and encourages individuality in every BrightPath child. Their nurturing and attentive approach offers each child a home-away-from-home experience.

Two-way communication is important. Monthly newsletters, curriculum nights, parent interviews, open houses and our proprietary app (BrightPath Connect™) are designed to increase the interaction between our centres and families.

Children need nutrition to grow in both mind and body. Believing that food choices throughout childhood fuel life long eating habits, our menu is crafted by a Registered Nutritionist and prepared in-house daily and reflects those beliefs.

Taryn Moffatt, Centre Director
BrightPath Cochrane

Meet The Centre Director

Taryn has been in the Early Childhood Education field since 2006. Her teaching philosophy is strongly influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach and the idea that all children learn through play, based on their interests. Taryn has been at BrightPath Cochrane since it opened in 2015, starting out in the classroom, moving up to Assistant Director and now Centre Director.

Taryn’s favourite part about being the Centre Director is that every day is different and always keeps her on her toes. She enjoys getting to know all the children and their unique personalities and perspectives. When she gets to see the children’s faces light up after an accomplishment, it’s like a reward in itself! She really appreciates being able to connect with all the families and plan events where the families can connect with each other. She believes that the key to her successful team dynamic is working with her educators to find their strengths, then letting them flourish in the classroom. She enjoys finding new techniques, strategies and ideas for the classrooms to help the children really engage in what they are learning about.

Taryn was born and raised in rural Manitoba. Growing up in the country, she discovered the importance of children spending time with nature and the outdoors. She moved to Cochrane from Winnipeg in 2015 with her husband and two children, but they are still passionate Winnipeg Jets fans!

When she finds a few minutes to herself, Taryn enjoys cooking, catching up on the newest Netflix shows and DIY projects. As a family, they enjoy spending their free time outside, especially with the mountains right on their doorstep. They enjoy hiking, camping and even hanging out at the dog park with their pup, Maisie.
