What Sets Us Apart

Our award-winning curriculum was formed through in-depth research into early childhood learning and development. A blend of play-based (Frog Street) and child-led (Emergent) curriculums, all activities are hands-on, child-guided and exceed provincial early learning frameworks.

Our dedicated and passionate early childhood educators deliver an innovative, engaging and proven curriculum that ignites a love of learning and inspires and encourages individuality in every BrightPath child. Their nurturing and attentive approach offers each child a home-away-from-home experience.

Two-way communication is important. Monthly newsletters, curriculum nights, parent interviews, open houses and our proprietary app (BrightPath Connect™) are designed to increase the interaction between our centres and families.

Children need nutrition to grow in both mind and body. Believing that food choices throughout childhood fuel life long eating habits, our menu is crafted by a Registered Nutritionist and prepared in-house daily and reflects those beliefs.

About The Centre

BrightPath Sandalwood is located in the Sandalwood Place shopping plaza across the street from the Loafer’s Lake park space and Cyril Clark Library and can be accessed by Conestoga Drive or Sandalwood Parkway East. The centre shares a large parking lot with other tenants for parent drop off and pick up. To ensure a safe and secure environment, the centre is furnished with keycode entry at the front doors.

With a licensed capacity of 148 children from 6 weeks to 6 years old, this 9,000 square foot facility offers lots of room to learn and grow. The centre is accredited through Raising the Bar and is committed to maintaining provincial regulatory standards as well as local community standards in the quality of the child care they provide.

The centre offers a large outdoor space with two separated playgrounds for infant/toddler and preschool-aged children. Each playground offers age-appropriate play structures and artificial grass. Meet The Centre Director

Micaela started working in child care in 2002 as classroom assistant for Peekaboo (now BrightPath). In 2003, she graduated from Sheridan College with her Early Childhood Education diploma. Micaela moved into the Centre Director position in late 2003 and has been loving it ever since.

Micaela’s favourite part about being a Centre Director is building amazing relationships with the children and their families. She enjoys working with the children and watching their development as they grow through each stage, truly appreciating the unique qualities of each child. She loves how rewarding it is to receive hugs and smiles from the children every day.

Micaela was born and raised in Portugal and still speaks fluent Portuguese. She is a wife and mother to two wonderful girls. She loves to spend time with her family, and when she can find the time she likes to travel and spend time outdoors.
