Centre Director

Shabnam is a dedicated educator with a wealth of academic achievements, holding Master's degrees in social studies and theological studies and a Bachelor's degree in law and political science from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. Upon moving to Canada, she further honed her skills, obtaining an Early Learning Childcare Diploma from Bow Valley College in Calgary and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in ELCC from the University of Calgary. Her diverse professional journey in Pakistan included roles as a Social Worker, Part-time Teacher, Rehabilitation Counselor, and volunteering in the aftermath of the 2005 Pakistan earthquake. Since completing her education at Bow Valley College in 2007, Shabnam embarked on a fulfilling career at BrightPath Falconridge, starting as an educator in the before-and-afterschool program. Her dedication and passion led to successive promotions from Room Lead to Assistant Director.

Shabnam's journey continued as she assumed the role of Centre Director at BrightPath Falsby Centre and later at BrightPath Highland Park, where she thrives in nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning. Her favorite pastimes include spending quality moments with children, engaging in activities like singing songs and facilitating their exploration of the world.

Outside of her professional life, Shabnam cherishes her role in a multi-generational household with a loving family of three children and seven grandchildren. During leisure time, she enjoys family bonding, exploring historic places, and immersing herself in nature. Her cherished hobbies include sewing, crocheting, crafting, cooking, reading, photography, and scrapbooking.

What our families think about BrightPath Highland Park

"daunting. However, I had been communicating with Shabnam, the Director, just before arriving and we were welcomed with open arms and it has been one of the best decisions we have made. Everyone is absolutely fantastic, all of the teachers deeply care about all of the children and they nurture and encourage them everyday. Thank you everyone at BrightPath Highland Path, my son absolutely loves it there and you have really helped him learn, grow and develop into the little boy he is today! 😀"
Sara Keane

"We absolutely love this daycare centre. The BrightPath chain of childcare facilities provides excellent environment for early childhood learning. The structure, the curriculum, and most importantly the teachers are all great.

Specific to the Highland Park location, we love that all of the teachers and the directors take immense pride in their work with the children. They all provide great affection when caring for the children, creating a safe and loving environment for the kids outside of home. The facility itself is fantastic, as it is located in a neighbourhood with great outdoor space.

We can not recommend this daycare enough."
