The Montessori Philosophy is based on the work of Dr. Maria Montessori, who created a revolutionary pedagogy over 100 years ago. It quickly became the world’s largest education movement. The philosophy is based on the belief that a child’s early years (from birth to six) are the period where the greatest academic and social learning potential exists and it encourages children to be independent, self-confident learners through choosing their own work.
Dr. Maria Montessori believed that treating children with respect would inspire and empower them to create a better world once they reach adulthood. This belief is the basis for the Montessori method. Our goal is to cultivate creativity, independence, self-esteem and a thirst for learning in children.
Area Manager: Sabrina Rehman
Sabrina always knew she wanted a career that would have a lasting impact on her community and world. Engineering came as a natural choice because the way she sees it, engineers and their practices have been encouraged for one paramount reason: benefiting humankind. As an engineer from Carleton University, she became involved in a research and development project related to improving children’s access to early education in developing countries. Through this experience, she saw firsthand the impact early years have on the whole lives of children. She knew then that she had met her passion and wanted to be part of something this extraordinary.
She went on to complete a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Loyalist College in Bellville, Ontario. As an Engineer turned Educator, over the past eight years, she has worked to pioneer a holistic STEM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) curriculum for the BrightPath programs that she oversees as Area Manager.
She can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone 613-277-6866
