What Sets Us Apart

Our award-winning curriculum was formed through in-depth research into early childhood learning and development. A blend of play-based (Frog Street) and child-led (Emergent) curriculums, all activities are hands-on, child-guided and exceed provincial early learning frameworks.

Our dedicated and passionate early childhood educators deliver an innovative, engaging and proven curriculum that ignites a love of learning and inspires and encourages individuality in every BrightPath child. Their nurturing and attentive approach offers each child a home-away-from-home experience.

Two-way communication is important. Monthly newsletters, curriculum nights, parent interviews, open houses and our proprietary app (BrightPath Connect™) are designed to increase the interaction between our centres and families.

Children need nutrition to grow in both mind and body. Believing that food choices throughout childhood fuel life long eating habits, our menu is crafted by a Registered Nutritionist and prepared in-house daily and reflects those beliefs.

About The Centre

The centre offers 68 licensed spots for child care for 6-week to 5-year olds and before and after school care for 6 to 12-year olds. Situated in a quiet and mature neighbourhood, the long-term center staff will make you feel right at home.

Proud of their inviting outdoor space in front of the building as well as a covered infant play space which allows children to play even when it is raining, the centre puts a heavy emphasis on outdoor play and physical activity. As they are located close to the Coquitlam River and Westwood Park, the older children (usually preschool and older) are taken on walks and excursions to explore and learn in this beautiful, natural setting as well.

Meet The Centre Director

Jasna graduated from Burnaby College with her Early Childhood Education Diploma and started working in child care immediately. She has over 17 years of experience working with all age groups from infants to school-age children, along with working with children with special needs. Joining BrightPath in 2011, Jasna worked her way up from a preschool ECE to now becoming the Centre Director for BrightPath Port Coquitlam.

Jasna’s favourite part of being a Director is part is working with the youngest ones, and planting seeds of knowledge for their future growth. She believes in creating a warm and inviting environment for children, families and staff at the centre.

Born and raised in Croatia, Jasna and her family emigrated to Canada in 1994. She loves reading, watching movies and long walks on trails along the Coquitlam River. Family time is important to Jasna, with visits to see her grandchildren in Calgary being her favourite way to spend quality time.
