Oakville, ON

What Sets Us Apart

Our award-winning curriculum was formed through in-depth research into early childhood learning and development. A blend of play-based (Frog Street) and child-led (Emergent) curriculums, all activities are hands-on, child-guided and exceed provincial early learning frameworks.

Our dedicated and passionate early childhood educators deliver an innovative, engaging and proven curriculum that ignites a love of learning and inspires and encourages individuality in every BrightPath child. Their nurturing and attentive approach offers each child a home-away-from-home experience.

Two-way communication is important. Monthly newsletters, curriculum nights, parent interviews, open houses and our proprietary app (BrightPath Connect™) are designed to increase the interaction between our centres and families.

Children need nutrition to grow in both mind and body. Believing that food choices throughout childhood fuel life long eating habits, our menu is crafted by a Registered Nutritionist and prepared in-house daily and reflects those beliefs.

About The Centre

BrightPath Oakville is located close to the intersection of Speers Road and Kerr Street and can be easily found by travelling north on Kerr Street and taking the last right turn onto Shepherd Road before the train tracks. Situated on a corner lot, the centre is surrounded by a large parking lot that offers plenty of parking to the centre families.

The centre offers 122 licensed spaces for 6-week to 4-year olds. This location is also a proud member of Quality First, which encourages quality practices, and professional development for staff and programs in the Halton region.

BrightPath Oakville provides a warm welcome to families through a large mural on the curved wall in the entrance way. The “Under the Sea” theme has fascinated many children and many a friendship has been formed with the creatures displayed.

The centre is also the site for BrightPath’s Professional Learning Centre, a staff training facility which is designed to offer practical learning opportunities and realistic classroom experiences. The Learning Centre allows staff to improve their teaching through observing, discussing and reflecting on their practice with guidance from leaders in the child care field, while children at the centre will continue to receive an innovative, individualized and high-quality program. Programs and the curriculum across observation and non-observation classrooms are identical.

Donna Foreman, Centre Director
BrightPath Oakville

Meet The Centre Director

Donna started working in childhood education in 1989. She has had the pleasure of working with Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, Jr. Kindergarten and School-Age children. Believing in education, Donna continues to attend various workshops to develop her skills. Donna is Director of BrightPath Oakville.

There are many aspects of being a Director that Donna enjoys. She likes to work with staff to ensure that every child meets his/her full potential and that parents feel comfortable in leaving their child in a safe secure environment while at the Centre. She strives to create a positive environment while developing great relationships with parents to ensure children feel confident to explore, experiment, make friends and have fun!

Born and raised in Scotland, Donna came to Canada in her early twenties. She enjoys the different cultures and varied environments that can be found in the GTA as she is able to go from a major metropolis to small towns and countryside in only a few kilometres without the wait on the highway. Donna lives with her dog and enjoys visiting the local dog park with her. In her spare time, she loves to read, cook and spend time with many friends, especially in or around the water. Donna loves FaceTime as it allows her to have coffee with her parents and spend time with her far-away family.
