Overview

Lawrence Park School is a bright, dynamic nursery school that has been offering a stimulating educational environment to North Toronto families since 1982. It is a fun and friendly place for children to learn and grow under the guidance of caring, Ontario certified teachers and Registered Early Childhood Educators. The school offers a stimulating, enriched program that enables children to establish close and lasting friendships in a nurturing, multifaceted environment.

LPS is licensed and carefully structured to care for children from 18 months to 6 years of age. The school provides a variety of activities and areas that cultivate effective language, listening and communication skills, creative thinking, problem solving and fine and gross motor skills. Sequencing and patterning games and other fun and educational activities help build a solid foundation for emerging literacy and numeracy.

All children engage in regular French, Music and Phys Ed. programs along with creative art, drama, special projects, cognitive and sensory activities, all the while having fun and building a solid foundation for emerging reading, writing and math skills.

Optional hot lunch and afternoon programs available.

Centre Director

Sarah Bonell

Sarah Bonell is the Centre Director of Lawrence Park School and she had worked previously as an Educational Coach for BrightPath Child Care. She has been a Registered Early Childhood Educator since 2005 but she started working with children of age 0-17 in different capacities since 1997. She has over ten years of experience in the classroom, as well as has supervised, directed, and taught numerous Early Childhood Education courses.

Her philosophy encompasses the family as a whole. Building relationships and meeting the needs of our cliental is extremely beneficial for our socio-economic health. Ensuring we view each individual child as competent and capable, meet their developmental needs, and challenge their thinking in an inclusive and diverse environment is how she believes we set the stage for later life successes in learning and development.

Her goal is to support the Teams at Lawrence Park School to ensure we are setting the standards of quality and care in our industry. Her role is to support the children’s and family’s needs by assessing the quality of our care and the health and safety within the environment. She strives to empower the staff to take ownership of their work so they can confidently and proudly make a positive difference in each child’s life.

What our families think about Lawrence Park School

"All my kids went to Lawrence Park School, starting at 18 months. The facility was a perfect place for small children to start their love of learning. The staff and management have created wonderful programs for the kids to begin their educational journey. I have nothing but positive things to say about the LPS."

Jennifer Upitis

"All three of children attended LPS starting at 18 months old. We found it a fantastic experience for our children and our family. We saw all of our children develop a strong sense of community, and a keen interest in school while also developing strong friendships and social skills. We highly recommend LPS and all of their staff."
