What Sets Us Apart

Our award-winning curriculum was formed through in-depth research into early childhood learning and development. A blend of play-based (Frog Street) and child-led (Emergent) curriculums, all activities are hands-on, child-guided and exceed provincial early learning frameworks.

Our dedicated and passionate early childhood educators deliver an innovative, engaging and proven curriculum that ignites a love of learning and inspires and encourages individuality in every BrightPath child. Their nurturing and attentive approach offers each child a home-away-from-home experience.

Two-way communication is important. Monthly newsletters, curriculum nights, parent interviews, open houses and our proprietary app (BrightPath Connect™) are designed to increase the interaction between our centres and families.

Children need nutrition to grow in both mind and body. Believing that food choices throughout childhood fuel life long eating habits, our menu is crafted by a Registered Nutritionist and prepared in-house daily and reflects those beliefs.

About The Centre

Located inside the Eagle Ridge United Church on the corner of Glen and Lansdowne Drive, BrightPath Coquitlam is a small centre that packs a punch. It offers a large parking lot and is minutes away from transit, plus only a ten-minute walk from the SkyTrain and West Coast Express.

The centre is proud of its team of early childhood educators. They are a group of dynamic, dedicated and like-minded individuals that inspire each other every day which can be felt as soon as you walk through the doors. With many of the staff having a background in Reggio Emilia, they have worked toward creating a cozy and calming environment that incorporates natural materials. This extends to their outdoor play space which features large, established trees that offer natural shade and cooling breezes.

Fully licensed, the centre offers care for 6-week to 5-year olds with 59 spaces. Fully ground level, it also offers easy access for strollers and wheelchairs.

Candace Walters, Centre Director
BrightPath Coquitlam

Meet The Centre Director

Candace received her license to practise as an Early Childhood Educator in August of 2011. She has experience working with children from infant & toddler all the way through to school aged care and values the experience gained within each program. She joined BrightPath Coquitlam in November of 2016 and was recently named acting Centre Director.

Her favourite part about being a BrightPath Director is being able to work through each step required to provide information or greater understanding to families in need. She strongly believes in the value of positive affirmation and strive to demonstrate this to the families that come to the centre.

In addition to English, Candace also speaks Spanish. She enjoys to travel and even spent a year abroad teaching English to children and youth in Colombia. In her down time, she can be found with coffee in hand, working on her cross-stitch. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially spending time outdoors together, whether that is fishing, hiking or camping.
