“The goal of early childhood should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.” – Maria Montessori

Our New Montessori Preschool Classroom

Why Montessori?

The Montessori method teaches critical thinking, innovation and creativity…

A Montessori classroom has a mixed-age group of children who are encouraged to learn from and help each other. The Montessori environment is carefully prepared and maintained and is arranged in specific areas of interest to children. The materials are meant to arouse a child’s interest and help them develop a variety of skills – from refining fine motor skills to establishing a solid framework for mathematical concepts.

Our Montessori classroom helps children grow into capable, kind, caring people who demonstrate care for themselves, for others, and for the world in which they live.

Meet Our Lead Montessori Teacher

Madame Brenna Rieberer

Brenna is an experienced educator who has worked in a variety of settings, from Montessori Preschool to Public Elementary School. She is a trained Montessori Preschool and Montessori Elementary Teacher and has a certificate in Early Childhood Education, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She is passionate about helping her students to become capable, confident and enthusiastic learners. Madame Brenna lives on a small farm just north of Calgary. She raises chickens, fruits/veggies and has many cats who help keep the mice away. When she has the time, Brenna likes to cook, garden, hike and find wild mushrooms to eat.

What Sets Us Apart

Our award-winning curriculum was formed through in-depth research into early childhood learning and development. A blend of play-based (Frog Street) and child-led (Emergent) curriculums, all activities are hands-on, child-guided and exceed provincial early learning frameworks.

Our dedicated and passionate early childhood educators deliver an innovative, engaging and proven curriculum that ignites a love of learning and inspires and encourages individuality in every BrightPath child. Their nurturing and attentive approach offers each child a home-away-from-home experience.

Two-way communication is important. Monthly newsletters, curriculum nights, parent interviews, open houses and our proprietary app (BrightPath Connect™) are designed to increase the interaction between our centres and families.

Children need nutrition to grow in both mind and body. Believing that food choices throughout childhood fuel life long eating habits, our menu is crafted by a Registered Nutritionist and prepared in-house daily and reflects those beliefs.
